Introducing NKPR’s Annual PR Scholarship
On World Happiness Day (March 20th) we launched an agency-wide cause initiative, the NKPR 26 Acts of Kindness. Over these past few months we’ve brought #randomactsofkindess to the streets of Toronto, held a clothing drive for the Fred Victor Women’s Shelter and ran a TTC token drive to benefit the Red Door Family Shelter, just to name a few.
For our next act of kindness, we wanted to support the community within our own industry, helping develop future leaders in communication through education through the launch of the NKPR Scholarship.
“The public relations industry is constantly evolving and it takes a certain type of individual to thrive in this fast paced environment,” says Natasha Koifman, NKPR’s President. “The NKPR Scholarship was created to inspire and motivate those who are hungry to thrive in PR, to develop the next generation of communications professionals and essentially to evolve the industry that I love so much.”
The annual NKPR Scholarship will be awarded to two students in the field of PR, marketing and/or communications who can apply their skills to the most current issues and definitions of public relations. For the first NKPR Scholarship awarded, we’re asking entrants to identify the most important issue or trend affecting PR and why. The winners will be awarded $2,500 each to go towards tuition.
We’re picking the winners based on creativity and strategic thinking. Remember that the industry is constantly evolving, innovating and growing. We want to see how you’ll make your mark on the PR world!
It’s easy to apply!
Step 1: Be an undergraduate student or post-graduate in the field of public relations, marketing and/or communications
Step 2: Ponder the question, “What is the most important issue or trend affecting PR and why?”
Step 3: Get creative! Applications can be submitted in your medium of choice or in essay format, keeping to 1000 words or less. Show us what you’ve got!
Step 4: Proof and edit and edit and proof
Step 5: Submit to scholarship@nkpr.net (with an attachment less than 5MB) on or before October 17, 2016
Step 6: Pat yourself on the back. You deserve it!
