Being a responsible corporate citizen is at the core of NKPR’s business. In fact, the concept of combining good business with good works was what inspired Natasha Koifman to create NKPR in 2002.
As part of the company’s ongoing commitment to give back and to encourage others to do the same, much of NKPR’s work involves building relationships between charities and brands. While many charities are often part of NKPR-directed campaigns, over the years the company has developed a special relationship with two not-for-profits in particular: Camp Oochigeas and Artists for Peace and Justice.
Natasha has been working on behalf of Camp Oochigeas since 2008 and served as a board member in 2009. Since then, NKPR has involved Camp Ooch in several of their high-profile events, including Holiday in July media days and several “Shop For A Cause” initiatives with major retailers. Through these events and others, NKPR has helped raise awareness for this camp for children with cancer, as well as thousands of fundraising dollars.
Natasha Koifman is on the board of Artists for Peace and Justice, an organization created by filmmaker Paul Haggis in 2008 that is currently providing the children of Haiti with essential medical care, clean water, hot meals and education. NKPR regularly organizes high-profile events for APJ, including the organization’s first-ever fundraiser in 2009 and the follow-up in 2010, both held in Toronto during the film festival.
Both of these charities have been featured in NKPR’s annual headline-grabbing IT Lounge celebrity gifting suite. With many of the participating IT Lounge brands making donations to Camp Oochigeas, Artists for Peace and Justice or a charity of their choice, Natasha and the NKPR team have designed the IT Lounge so that it gives back as much as it gives out.
