The third week of January is often said to be the most depressing time of the year… And although science says otherwise, we’ll take any excuse to surround ourselves with things that make us happy – family, friends and a bit of retail therapy!
We fell in love with Bourbon in 2012 and we don’t plan on ending this affair anytime soon. Winter 2013 and it’s keeping us warm on the rocks. Looking ahead we can expect some Wild Turkey 81 cocktails on a summer patio and a rustic sip or two in the fall. [Wedding Bells]
We’ve already shown our love for stila’s Sparkle Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Electric green. It’s the perfect shade to rock Pantone’s Colour of the Year – Emerald and we’re glad [Flare] loves it too!
Still holding onto a few unwanted gifts from the holidays? Chances are, if the purchaser bought them online, they can still be returned! One of the best return policies, we’ve heard of? SHOP.CA’s 365 day return promise. [Globe and Mail]
Skiing is the one outdoor activity we actually look forward to during January! Explore the slopes and relax in the chalet decked out in Hi-Tec’s New Moon Boots. Comfort and style, we’ll take it! [Sweat Equity Magazine]

The star-studded MMVA’s had Toronto buzzing last weekend! Our friends at Baker Street were on-hand at Perez Hilton’s One Night in Toronto event, serving up desserts to the stars including Carly Rae Jepsen, Dragonette and Darren Criss! [Perez Hilton]
Whether you’re for or against “manscaping”, we can all agree on the importance of using the proper tools! For waxing, Andrea Professionals is your best bet! For trimming, try Tweezerman! [Style Empire]
Summer doesn’t officially kick off until June 20, but with Toronto temperatures hitting the high 20s’, we’d say it’s already arrived! Time to kick back, relax and enjoy the season!
Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival is one of our favourite cultural events in the city! Our favourite exhibit of 2012? Jill Greenberg’s Glass Ceiling. Beautiful and thought-provoking. [National Post]
This week’s IT List is all about Valentine’s Day! Whether single or attached, this love-dedicated holiday can be incredibly polarizing! One thing we can’t debate? All the amazing products that come out during the month of love!
What do you get when you combine a mouth-watering Heart Truffle Cake from Baker Street, a decadent Frangelico and SKYY Vodka cocktail, and the romantic Sweetheart Collection from DAVIDsTEA? A triple threat of delicious treats for the day of love… or any day really! [Toronto Sun]
Italian aperitifs like Campari and Aperol were one of the top cocktail trends of 2011! With a glowing-red colour, these two spirits are a non-cliché way to indulge in pink drinks this Valentine’s Day! [Globe & Mail]
Happy New Year!
One of my favourite parts about starting a new year is checking out the emerging trends in fashion and beauty! In December, colour company Pantone named Tangerine Tango, a vibrant reddish orange as their 2012 Colour of the Year. We love this on-trend shade and have started to see the vivacious hue everywhere! Pantone calls the colour “sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive,” and we agree!
