The first LIVE taping of the FWords podcast took place this past weekend! Natasha, along with Taylor Kaye, and Anthony Mantella, hosted their first live event for the podcast series in the Links of London boutique at the Toronto Eaton Centre. Guests joined the trio to chat about which royals wear Links of London (and LINE the Label!), as well as holiday gifting!
The event had a fantastic response, especially as laughter and conversation filled the mall and attracted a crowd surrounding the store’s entrance! Among the lovely FWords fans that came out to join the fun was the beautiful Rosey Edeh and Kris Reyes!
Along with chatting to guests and listeners live at the Links of London store, the highlight of the evening was the iconic Sweetie Made-To-Order Bracelet giveaway! Throughout the podcast guests could enter a ballad for a chance to win a $500 Sweetie bracelet, including a couple charms of their choice!
We all know Natasha loves the Sweetie bracelet as the best gift to give… and receive! To celebrate the first live event, FWords listeners are able to enter a second Sweetie bracelet giveaway over on the @natashankpr Instagram account!
You can listen to this special LIVE edition of the FWords here. Stay tuned for more FWords LIVE events in 2018!
For the past few months, Jack Daniel’s JD Supporting Acthas been making musical dreams come to life for young artists across Canada. The calibre of talent and the love for music in our country is nothing short of incredible (can we talk about Alanis Morisette at the Junos, anyone?).
In Jack Daniel’s Supporting Act’s inaugural year, over 65 Canadian artists shared their musically-driven stories in a short 60-second video outlining what they need to make their dreams a reality. Over the course of 16 weeks, the contestants were narrowed down by a panel of judges and one artist was chosen every two weeks winning everything from electronic drum sets to touring the UK! Now you have the chance to be a part of someone’s musical journey to stardom!
This week it’s up to you to vote on the finalists to decide who will be receiving the JD Supporting Act Fan Choice Award! From March 13-25 your votes will decide who the final winner is!
Winner 1: Tim Popek – The music teacher won an electronic drum set, recording software and a new computer, allowing him to create an online drumming school.
Winner 2: Kink the Band – The duo, who strives to promote female empowerment in rock and roll, won funds to record their first album with local Toronto producer Jason Pierce.
Winner 3: Young Running – The folk rock group won funds towards a Western Canada Tour. The band just returned home after three weeks living out their dream playing music in the Rocky Mountains.
Winner 4: Stone Iris – After winning Indie Week Canada, the band from Alberta had the opportunity to play Indie Week UK. Jack Daniel’s gave them the means to tour the UK before their headlining experience.
Winner 5: Sidney York – The indie avant-pop duo from Calgary received funds to produce and market their new album release, showcasing their talent for playing instruments seldom seen beyond the orchestra pit.
Winner 6: Bathurst Station – The up and coming Toronto band was the second to win an opportunity to tour the UK.
Winner 7: The Elwins – Hailing from Keswick, Ontario, this group of long-time friends received funds to purchase new instruments to complete their world-wide tour, aiming to sound better than ever on stage.
Winner 8: JD Supporting Act Fan Choice

If you’ve been following our blog (say yes!) then you’ve witnessed the launch of Jack Daniel‘s incredible program, JD Supporting Act. As mentioned, the program is inspired by the iconic connection between the Tennessee whiskey brand and music.
To refresh your memory, the way it works is Canadians submit a quick 60-second video documenting personal stories and music wishes for the chance at a big break, dream concert tickets, new instruments, music lessons and more.
Jack Daniel’s released an inspiring video documenting the first music dreams fulfilled by Jack Daniel’s Supporting Act. A surprise appearance by Canadian rocker Sam Roberts gave emerging musicians Sam Cash & the Romantic Dogs some much-needed state-of-the-art studio time to record their next album.
In honour of the program, we’ve rounded up NKPR’s biggest and wildest musical dreams…
Natasha: Well I have been playing the piano since I was a little girl…Love it! And I LOVE Billy Joel. My musical dream would be to meet him and watch him play and sing up close and personal in NYC.

Aisha: I bought this insanely expensive sitar a few years ago…played it three times. Would love to learn how to play and tune it!

Nathan: I want to go to Tomorrowland in Belgium!
Sana: I would like a private concert from the Spice Girls at Wembley Stadium.

Shaun: I want peace, love and harmony through music!
When witches go riding and black cats are seen…the moon laughs and whispers, “ti’s near Halloween!
It’s that spooky time of year again…when witches casually walk down the hallway, ghosts nonchalantly fly by on streetcars, and chocolate is available in the masses. Inside NKPR, our favourite part of Halloween isn’t always the trendy new costumes…instead it’s often the hilarity of looking back at past Halloween costumes.
Whether it was the last-minute thrown-together-with-your-mother’s-jewelry kind, or a seriously thought-out I-had-this-planned-since-last-year kind of costume, we can’t get enough laughs out of our old costumes. In honour of the big day tomorrow, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite TBT Halloween costumes…

Summer is the perfect time of year for fresh ingredients and delicious outdoor eats… And what better way to spend a beautiful, sunny day than out for a picnic with your favourite home-made sandwich?!
We’ve been inspired by ZWILLING incredible Panini/Sandwich Knife that easily slices through crusty breads and deli items and has a wide blade for easy spreading of condiments – definitely a summer must-have!
If you have questions in the kitchen (which most of us do!), ZWILLING.ca is a fantastic resource for all your cooking needs offering incredible how to’s and easy-to-follow tutorials. The Knife Tutorial is definitely worth checking out – it breaks down each individual knife from the ZWILLING Pro Collection and explains why each one is sized differently and how their unique shape is dependent on each knife’s purpose.
So before you hit the grill, click here for lots of helpful tips!

Let’s face it: no one likes frequent shaving or waxing. Don’t get us wrong – it’s nice to be smooth and hair free, but given the opportunity most of us would skip the pain and time spent on this annoying yet necessary task. We’ve been introduced to Inhibitif and it looks like our prayers have been answered! A serum applied twice a day for 8 weeks that reduces the prominence and density of hair? Count us in.
So how exactly does the formula work? The serum promises to thin hair in conjunction to regular hair removal, with the end result meaning less frequent hair removal and lasting smoothness. The serum comes in a spray format that you apply evenly on shaved or waxed body areas twice per day for 2 months, or until unwanted hair appears nearly invisible (imagine our excitement). You then reduce usage to 3 times per week to maintain results. We learned that Inhibitif is different from a depilatory, which removes hair temporarily. Inhibitif reduces the apparent rate of hair growth over time so that you have to remove hair less often.
Intrigued, the NKPR team is taking part in the Smooth Movement – an 8 week challenge where we will be tracking our experience and reporting our results. We’ve rounded up a group with diverse hair types, each of us testing out one of the 3 available products for face, body or underarms.
Did you know?
According to Cosmo Magazine, women spend an average of 72 days of their life shaving…ugh! Tell us how you’d spend those 72 days instead for a chance to win Inhibitif and join the #SmoothMovement!
To enter:
1. Follow @inhibitif and @natashankpr on Twitter
2. Tweet @NatashaNKPR and tell us how you would spend those 72 days, whether it be vacationing to Europe, travelling to Asia or catching up on beauty sleep and tag @Inhibitif #SmoothMovement!
Most of us have dreamed of designing (okay, maybe just owning!) a custom-piece of clothing: the ultimate pair of pumps, the perfect little black dress or jeans that hug in all the right places.
To celebrate their 100th anniversary, our friends at Fila Canada are letting fans put their stamp on another wardrobe essential. The t-shirt!
During the month of June, Fila fans submitted innovative t-shirt designs for a chance to win exclusive access to a celebrity gifting suite and share their limited-edition t-shirt design with the stars of the Toronto film festival.
Well, the designs are in and now it’s your turn to help change the face of Fila!
Until Thursday, July 7, vote for your favourite design once per day to help select ten contest finalists. From those ten finalists, one grand prize winner will be selected by Fila Canada.
Voting is easy! Just click on over to the Fila Facebook page to check out the t-shirt designs and choose the one you’d want to wear.
