The Kit is IT List

This week’s IT List is all about one of our favourite fashion and beauty mags – The Kit! After working with legendary fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier at the IT Lounge Portrait Studio, NKPR had the opportunity to create a limited edition print magazine with The Kit, sharing the incredible photos and moments that were captured during film festival. The final product was a stunning piece of editorial, showcasing Patrick’s images and our incredible IT Lounge partners! Check out the final product of [The Kit is IT]!

But first, here are some of our favourite moments from The Kit is IT photo shoot with Patrick Demarchelier:

Suits star Gabriel Macht stopped by the RW&CO. suite at the IT Lounge Portrait Studio and chose a long sleeve black tee for his photo shoot with Patrick! Based on the result, we think Harvey Specter should lose the suit a little more often…

Supermodel Yasmin Warsame owns the cover of The Kit is IT, looking absolutely stunning in the lia sophia earrings and bracelets she tried on here.

From one fashion legend to another! Canadian fashion icon Jeanne Beker came to the IT Lounge to interview Patrick Demarchelier in the Grain Farmers of Ontario Refueling station, snacked on a Yogurty’s treat and was photographed as she is often seen, with her camera!

Trudie Styler stopped by the Lounge with her  daughter Mickey Sumner for a mother/daughter photo shoot with Patrick Demarchelier! After the shoot, the duo stopped by the IT Lounge bar serving SKYY cocktails, Bottle Green sparkling and AQUAhydrate water before browsing the Holiday collection at RW&CO.

Academy award winning director and APJ founder Paul Haggis visited the Lounge’s Tweezerman booth for a bit of grooming to get ready for his close-up with Patrick!

Canadian television personality George Stroumboulopoulos joined NKPR President Natasha Koifman for a bit of healthy competition for a cause at the STIKS Gaming booth before posing for Patrick!

Summer doesn’t officially kick off until June 20, but with Toronto temperatures hitting the high 20s’, we’d say it’s already arrived! Time to kick back, relax and enjoy the season!

Looking for a refreshing alternative to the typical syrupy sweet drinks of summer? We suggest an Aperol cocktail… or two!  [Chatelaine]

Speaking of refreshment, Bottle Green is a delightful sparkling water from the UK, naturally sweetened with handpicked flowers and fresh-pressed fruits. Martha Stewart approved!    [Toronto Sun]

Sandal season demands a pretty pedicure and essie’s got the perfect shades for summer! Cheeky names are essie‘s trademark… We think we’ll try “bikini so teeny”!   [Toronto Standard]

Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival is one of our favourite cultural events in the city! Our favourite exhibit of 2012? Jill Greenberg’s Glass Ceiling. Beautiful and thought-provoking.   [National Post]

When it comes to summer fashion… we love it all! Striped lacy tee from Rachel Rachel Roy? Yes please.  [Chatelaine]

Bold prints are all the rage this season! We love this scenic tank from Mendocino and bright floral printed skirt from Jones New York!  [Flare Magazine]

Picnic couture? We are going bananas over this yellow button-down from RW&CO!  [Fashion Magazine]

Did you make a New Year’s resolution this year? This week’s IT List celebrates the start of 2012! Our prediction so far… it’s going to be an amazing year!

New Year’s Eve may have passed, but that doesn’t mean you have to stop celebrating. Tasty holiday drinks from SKYY Vodka, Campari, and Cabo Wabo Tequila  are sure to keep the party going all year long. [Toronto Sun]

We are loving Pantone’s 2012 Colour of the Year! (note Tangerine Tango filled blog post below) Stay on-trend with this sheer blouse from RW&CO.’s spring collection! [Toronto Sun]

One of  the most common New Year’s resolutions is to lose weight and get fit! But you don’t have to kill yourself in the gym to get results. Introduce walking into your routine to kickstart your fitness goals! Our favourite walking shoe – the very cool Fila Skeletoes! [Insert Magazine]

Bling in the New Year with essie Luxeffects polishes! The sparkle doesn’t have to stop after New Year’s Eve and these essie polishes will help you shine throughout 2012! [Beauty Connexion]

New Year, New Colour

Happy New Year!

One of my favourite parts about starting a new year is checking out the emerging trends in fashion and beauty! In December, colour company Pantone named Tangerine Tango, a vibrant reddish orange as their 2012 Colour of the Year. We love this on-trend shade and have started to see the vivacious hue everywhere! Pantone calls the colour “sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive,” and we agree!
