Last week Square One hosted media and influencers for a preview of their upcoming Food District, opening to the public on April 1st. The ultimate influencer, the Food God, Jonathan Cheban was on hand to experience all of the deliciousness.
Guests sampled appetizing eats, coffee, juice and beer from some of the merchants and restaurants that will be part of The Food District. Take a look below and prepare to get hungry.
You’ve done your holiday shopping, the menu is planned, the cookies are baked, but you still need to fill those stockings! Here are some last minute ideas that won’t break the bank and are guaranteed to please.
For the beauty lover in your life make-up makes a great stocking stuffer and it’s so much fun to mix and match products like these ones below.
Stuffing chocolate in a stocking is always a crowd pleaser and this year you can up your game with this stunning truffle collection. Pusateri’s has partnered with celebrity chef Chuck Hughes, CXBO’s chef Brandon Olsen and artist Sarah Keenlyside to create three different flavours that include ingredients from Chuck’s food line (grade A maple syrup, jalapeno hot sauce and balsamic vinegar). It also comes in a collectable hand-painted nine-piece box. $22.50
With names like Mistletoe Wishes, Ice Berry Queen and Midnight Kisses, this line is made to be in a stocking. The shampoo and conditioner work to help smooth and hydrate hair making it bright, clean and fresh! $8.99
A fun thing to do after opening presents and enjoying a holiday meal is doing hair masks. It’s also a great way to battle dry hair in the winter. Maui Moisture offers three different masks that use 100% aloe juice. They leave hair soft, healthy and smelling amazing. $10.99
Square One’s souped-up gift card could possibly be the best stocking stuffer of all time. The reason? Well, your stocking recipient can use it at any of the 330 stores or in any of the restaurants at Square One. And it can also be put towards a flight on Porter Airlines or a stay at multiple hotels across Canada.
It was a night to remember as the Grand Rotunda was transformed into beautiful Italian landscape to welcome guests into this year’s La Dolce Vita event. The second annual fundraising gala was held in support of the Oakville Hospital Foundation and The Trillium Health Partners and raised a record-breaking $90,000! The evening featured a pizza cook-off, shopping for a cause, and of course, some Italian antipasto.
Over 1500 community members, influencers and celebrity guests came to Square One Shopping Centre to experience a large variety of food stations, cocktails, and espresso. The vendors included the cutest gelato bar truck, and guests could indulge in a charcuterie spread as people on stilts paraded around the venue in Venetian masks.
The event featured special culinary host Bobby Flay, who personally judged the pizza making contest between two representatives from the foundation. Flay was pictured trying different vendors and commenting on how to make the perfect pizza to event emcee and Top Chef Canada judge Janet Zuccarini.
The mall was transformed into a beautiful Italian-inspired piazza with fountains, bite-sized decadent Italian pasta, and even Italian treats do try. Guests were transported into a sweet night for a good cause and the evening did not disappoint!
Thank you to everyone who supported La Dolce Vita we can’t wait to see what happens next!

This upcoming Monday, Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga is hosting an exclusive event to launch their new sustainability initiative, featuring urban beekeeping! Yes, beekeeping! The Square One rooftop will now be home to four beehives, in an effort to support the growth of their population. It’s amazing to see Square One making use of *all* space, and giving these bees a new home!
To help kick-start the initiative, Square One will be partnering with health and wellness superstar Steph Shep, and Nike trainer, Eva Redpath, including a free body conditioning and flow class led by Eva on the roof!
Did you know? Bee populations are currently in decline all around the world, with urban development and climate change as just two causes for their habitat loss. “At least 30% of the world’s crops and 90% of all plants require cross-pollination to spread and thrive, and here in Canada, bees are our most important pollinators.” – Source

Our office (and our clients!) have been obsessed with the Royal Wedding for weeks, so we put together a quick recap of some ways we’ve showed love for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s big day!
Windsor Arms Hotel in Bloor-Yorkville
On May 19th, bright and early at 6 AM, the Windsor Arms Hotel in Bloor-Yorkville hosted a Royal Breakfast for guests to view the wedding in luxury and comfort! Seated in the hotel’s stunning (and newly renovated) Courtyard Ballroom, they enjoyed a delicious luxe British breakfast prepared by the Windsor Arms’ executive and pastry chefs. Guests indulged in a curated selection of Windsor Arms loose leaf teas, assortment of scones and crumpies, traditional English bubble and squeak ,and even a Royal-inspired lemon elderflower wedding cake!
Square One created a fun tribute to some of Meghan’s most iconic fashion moments in the lead up to the Royal wedding, including the iconic Meghan Coat from LINE the Label that she wore for her engagement!
With it being hardly a week since their nuptials, we’re remembering all the sweet moments the couple shared since their first blind date! Just weeks after they met, Harry surprised Meghan with a safari camping trip to Maun, Botswana! *Swoons*

There are so many places in the city, you can get lost trying to decide where to go! I’ve curated a list of my favourite places to go- Whether you’re looking to eat, shop, or play, there is something for everyone this winter.
Where to… EAT
Ufficio |1214 Dundas St W.
One of the best places to stop if you’re looking for an amazing meal! I personally love their green beans and ricotta gnocchi. (Who doesn’t LOVE gnocchi??)
Bake Shoppe | 859 College St.
Some of my absolute favourite treats are from here! I’m currently on a sugar cleanse for January, but typically my kitchen is always stocked with something, whether its the Retro Flakies or Nutella Cookies- I’m obsessed!
Bar Centrale | 1095 Yonge St.
This is my go-to spot for brunch, just located downstairs in Terroni! I always tend to go back for Poached eggs on top of brioche.
Where to… SHOP
TNT Fashion | Yorkville Village, 87 Avenue Rd.
TNT has been a shopping staple of mine for years. They offer an amazing curation of brands and collections- you can’t go wrong! Visit their store in Bloor Yorkville to find the perfect items to add to your winter wardrobe.
South Hill Home | 146 Dupont St.
Making your home warm and inviting is so important in these cold dark months, and South Hill’s beautifully crafted furnishings definitely do the trick! Stop by and pick up a new piece to make your space feel fresh and happy this winter.
Square One Shopping Centre| 100 City Centre Dr, Mississauga
This may be outside of the downtown core, but Square One is one of my top shopping destinations! When you need a break from hunting for the best finds, stop by for a delicious eclair at Nugateau.
Where to… PLAY
Windsor Arms Hotel | 18 St Thomas St. What better way to spend a chilly afternoon than at the spa, followed by high tea? Windsor Arms is a must for curing the winter blues!
Toronto Maple Leafs Game | Air Canada Centre, 40 Bay St.
Every now and then I love to catch a Leafs’ game with Anthony! Recently, this winter, I’ve really enjoyed going out and getting into the team spirit- it’s so much fun!
Thompson Toronto | 550 Wellington St W.
Get out of the cold and enjoy the Thompson! You can wet your palette at the bar then head on to their Screening Room for a movie!
