What an amazing evening in @BloorYorkville for the annual Holiday Magic event! 🎄 This year, we welcomed Juno Award winner, Rêve (@revemtl), to the stage for an outdoor performance, along with special guest @NicolinaBozzo.🎤 The annual “Flick the Switch” ceremony illuminated the Village of Yorkville Park and Bloor Street, in support of @secondharvestca! Hosted by media personality @MorganHoffman ⭐️⭐️⭐️

@blooryorkville sure knows how to throw a party! This event has become a tradition for me, @erichendrikx and the @nkpr.inc team. Surround yourself with holiday magic, including festive green and red-lit Urban Campfire Benches along Bloor Street. ✨

You’ll also be enchanted by strolling carolers dressed in Victorian-era costumes, creating a “Yule-tide” atmosphere. Each quartet will feature an Alto, Soprano, Tenor, and Bass vocalist. See the schedule below:

I’m sure we can all agree that taxes on new homes in Canada are far too high, making homeownership increasingly out of reach for many.

Recently, the Coalition Against New Home Taxes (CANT) has launched an incredibly innovative campaign called Taxopoly: The Unwinnable Game of Canadian Homeownership — and I am impressed by the creativity of this concept! 🎲

By reimagining #Monopoly, Taxopoly sheds light on the harsh realities of #homeownership in Canada today, where taxes account for 30% of the cost of a new home. With features like “Not a Chance” cards and “Move Back in With Your Parents” spaces, this board game creatively raises awareness about the challenges Canadian homeowners face while advocating for a reduction in excessive new home taxes.

This initiative delivers a much-needed message: it’s time for policymakers to tackle these excessive taxes and make homes more affordable for all Canadians.
