Recently, the Coalition Against New Home Taxes (CANT) has launched an incredibly innovative campaign called Taxopoly: The Unwinnable Game of Canadian Homeownership — and I am impressed by the creativity of this concept! 🎲

By reimagining #Monopoly, Taxopoly sheds light on the harsh realities of #homeownership in Canada today, where taxes account for 30% of the cost of a new home. With features like “Not a Chance” cards and “Move Back in With Your Parents” spaces, this board game creatively raises awareness about the challenges Canadian homeowners face while advocating for a reduction in excessive new home taxes.

This initiative delivers a much-needed message: it’s time for policymakers to tackle these excessive taxes and make homes more affordable for all Canadians.
