GLOBE AND MAIL CENTRE

Globe and Mail Centre: Summer Preview Event

Located in the King East Design District just minutes from the downtown core, The Globe and Mail Centre offers elegant spaces with panoramic city and lake views. NKPR was approached to create an event and clienteling strategy that would reach new audiences for the Globe and Mail Centre, establish it as the venue-of-choice within the city and ultimately drive sales and bookings.

Opportunity

  • Generate meaningful buzz and awareness for The Globe and Mail Centre as the venue-of-choice among corporate event planners for their summer events.
  • Showcase the diverse event offering available at The Globe and Mail Centre, including stunning views, ability to transform the space, and strong rosters of food, beverage, entertainment and décor partners.
  • Engage The Globe and Mail Centre’s audiences on social media before, during and following the event.

What We Did

  • Supported the Bold & Bright Summer Preview event execution, working closely with the venue’s event team.
  • Leveraged the venue’s core partners, including McEwan’s, Opening Night Flowers, the Wine Sisters, the Idea Hunter, and many more, to create a completely unique and colourful experience in the space for corporate and social event planners.
  • Sent invites to more than 400 GTA-based corporate and social event contacts, inviting them to the summer preview, resulting in strong attendance and relationship-building.
  • Provided strategic counsel on all event decor elements and partners, helping to create and conceptualize the “Bold & Bright” theme and colour schemes used in the space, to showcase venue capabilities for more than just weddings.
  • Designed creative evite for the event.
  • Managed RSVPs, guest check-in, and personal thank-you’s – to ensure communication and interaction was seamless from end-to-end.
  • Lead all social media content development and posting, throughout the duration of the project.

Results

  • Secured attendance from more than 250 corporate and social event planners, many of whom had not yet executed an event in the space.
  • Numerous inquiries into event availability for the summer and fall season, bringing additional attention from corporate contacts to the space.
  • Increased social media following and engagement, resulting in online conversations with event planners.
