Thompson Toronto: Launch Event
Opportunity
As the agency of record for the Thompson Toronto, NKPR developed a 360-degree communications plan for the hotel to help drive room bookings, engage corporate and social event planners, and to grow buzz and excitement for the hotel’s food & beverage properties.
What We Did
- Invited meeting and event planners from top Toronto banks, insurance and law firms including from TD Bank, Sun Life Financial, Manulife Financial, Intact Insurance, CIBC and BMO.
- Planned and executed an event for wedding planners including a tour of the property, including suites, rooftop, Lobby Bar, and the ballroom; themed vignettes around the property to showcase event opportunities (i.e.. an ice rink on the rooftop, various tablescapes, floral displays, cocktail-making demonstrations); and different food and beverage offerings.
- Created additional awareness of the Thompson’s offerings with media, influencers and King West notables over a 4-week period by booking targeted appointments at the Diner for either breakfast, lunch or dinner to try out the specially curated tasting menu.
Results
- All events directly resulted in sales leads for the Thompson.
- The program generated over 65 visits to the Diner in exchange for social media coverage and increased traffic in the Diner every day of the week. Total social media impressions: 25,404,678
- Total TIFF-related media and social media impressions: 164,415,592
