Celebrity-filled fundraiser in New York City this Friday!

November 1, 2010, 4:24 pm

If you’re in New York City this Friday, there’s an incredible event happening that you do not want to miss: APJ’s “Let’s Build a School for Haiti” fundraiser. This is not your typical charity event! Hollywood stars Paul Haggis, Gerard Butler, Russell Crowe, Susan Sarandon and Trudie Styler — Salman Rushdie, too! — will be there to show their support for Artists for Peace and Justice’s (APJ) new school campus in Port-au-Prince. Proceeds from the evening are going to the Academy for Peace and Justice, which is the first-ever free high school in Port-au-Prince!

The fundraising dinner is being held at Millesime restaurant in New York City and will feature three auctions with incredible items such as designer fashions, an Italian getaway… even a walk-on role in a Hollywood movie! You’ll also be treated to a special performance by Grammy Award-winning Haitian-American rapper Pras Michel (from The Fugees)!

Tickets are:

  • $500 (single ticket)
  • $1,500 (ticket at VIP table, includes a celebrity host)
  • $5000 (table)
  • $10,000 (corporate table, includes logo recognition)
  • $15,000 (VIP table, includes logo recognition + celebrity host)

If you’d like to purchase tickets, e-mail babs@apjnow.org. (You’ll get the full invitation + details then, too.)

Hope to see you there!

XO Natasha

I love this so much! It’s a photo of two students (Germana Moise and Soukan Chery) on their very first day at the Academy for Peace and Justice.
