Spaghetti Stories: The Barilla Pasta World Championship

The Barilla World Championship in Italy celebrates an essential ingredient to Italian cooking – Pasta!
Chef Connor Gabbot represented Canada at the championships held September 27 -29th where he presented his dish of Bucatini with Canadian Wild Boar Napolitean Ragó. He was one of the 19 chefs who competed in three different rounds of competition in Milan.

Barilla, the Italian food company since 1877, previewed its sixth edition of the championship that sees chefs from around the world compete for the top spot. Chef Accursio Lota from the U.S won top honours for his “Spaghetti alla Carbonara di Mare,” which paid homage to the unique and incredible flavours of Sicily.
