TIFF 2010: A Recap
Wow. I can’t believe TIFF 2010 is over. Looking back on it, I don’t know how we managed to jam in so much to one week, but we did and boy was it worth it.
A few of my favourite memories from this year’s festival include:
IT LOUNGE:
-Having Yanic Simard and his Toronto Interior Design Group transform our offices into a gorgeous celebrity-gifting suite, and having over 100 celebrities come by to experience new products and tweet their support for APJ
-Watching Catherine Deneuve have her caricature done at the Sharpie booth
-Seeing Ed Norton modeling his brand new Fila Sweater
-Introducing Twilight’s Jackson Rathbone to the Kobo eReader
TORO AFTER DARK LOUNGE:
-Witnessing people taking advantage of the exclusive invitation-only pop-up destination at PEARS on the Avenue
-Witnessing Paul Haggis, Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin pile out of the Acura MDX at the same time to close down the Lounge
-When proud father David Cronenberg watched his daughter leave her own mark on Canada’s cultural scene at RED, a preview of the NY Times Canadian Photo Archive Exhibit curated by Caitlin Cronenberg
FUNDRAISER FOR ARTISTS FOR PEACE AND JUSTICE
-Feeling the support of Martin Sheen, Paul Haggis, Josh Brolin, James Franco, AnnaLynne McCord, K’naan, Maria Bello, Peter Tunney and Kathleen Roberston who created live-art on the red carpet in support of APJ
-Laughing while Martin Sheen showed his underwear (Ellen Degeneres boxer briefs!) on the promise of a $1,000 donation to APJ from Peter Tunney
-Raising over $100,000 to change the lives of children in Haiti
Before I sign out, I also want to update you that through our Follow for a Cause Twitter campaign, we were able to raise $4515 for APJ- super pleased about that!!!
