And so, we find ourselves witnessing the ever-changing landscape of Canadian Media as we prepare to say goodbye to a cultural staple @etcanada.

This news weighs heavily on my heart. It’s truly a loss, for the dedicated staff that are facing job loss and also for the lost opportunity of storytelling.

When I started @artistsforpeace as an outreach to bring education to the Children of Haiti, @etcanada was one of our original supporters. They were there, boots on the ground, with the first camera in Haiti to send off our first graduating class in 2016. They were never just about pop culture: their connection to philanthropy and cause was strong and they never overlooked stories that were grounded in good.

The rise of social media has undeniably transformed the media landscape and a lot of businesses are still learning how to adapt and keep up. Gone are the days when a single channel, print, or traditional media could sustain an audience. In this era of social connectivity, most companies need to establish a presence across multiple touchpoints just to keep their audience engaged.

Over the years, @etcanada has been an invaluable source of insight and learning. Their legacy will undoubtedly be woven into the fabric of Canadian Media history.

I extend my heartfelt congratulations on 18 extraordinary seasons over 23 years. What an incredible run.♥️
